Gloria Butler

National Women's Institute Coordinator

Gloria Butler is a native of Valdosta, GA. She graduated from the former Pinevale High School in Valdosta, GA and Valdosta State College with a degree in Business Management, Personnel and Marketing. Gloria obeyed the Gospel during the summer of 1976 at the former West Adair Church of Christ but now, known as the Woodlawn Forrest Church of Christ. She is married to Leroy, Butler, Jr. and they have two lovely daughters, one son-in-law: Tyrah Nichole Butler Chatman (Evan), Dr. Desdamona Marlana Butler and two beautiful Grand Daughters, Little Miss Landyn Kai Chatman and Little Miss Karsyn Lee Chatman. Sister Butler is a member of Woodlawn Forrest Church of Christ where her husband is the pulpit Evangelist.


Gloria Butler is currently retired from the workforce but not from the Lord. Gloria works and chair several community projects through Leadership Lowndes, Valdosta Rotary, Community Partners In Education, Lowndes Commission for Children & Youth and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. 


Under the umbrella of “Woodlawn Forrest Sisters Exemplifying Christ Through Service” (W.F.S.E.C.T.S.), Gloria serves as Coordinator. She is responsible for the coordination of 14 women ministries. She also teaches the Ladies Bible Class and Coordinates the Pre-K Bible School Department.


Gloria speaks for various Ladies Day Programs and serves as the Georgia Coordinator for the National Ministers Wives Conference. Her ultimate goal is to be the woman that God expects her to be in every area of her life and to remain focused on Him. One of her favorite passages of scripture can be found in Ecclesiastes 9:10: “Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might, for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.” Also, Phillipians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.
